Ghana SPN/ECTN Regulation Guide

To help avoid delays, begin the process as soon as the Bill of Lading (BL) is available. The document requirements and key country-specific points are outlined below.

Bill of Lading

For LCL shipments submitted with a House Bill of Lading (HBL), the Master Bill of Lading (MBL) may also be requested when necessary. If the BL does not indicate the HS codes and country of origin, this information must be provided along with the BL.

Critical notes

  • Amendments requested after certificate validation are subject to an amendment fee.
  • For tariffs covering non-containerized shipments (RoRo, general cargo, or bulk), please contact our support team.

One SPN certificate is issued electronically for each BL, and the SPN number is issued after pre-validation. The certificate application must be finalized within 7 days from the pre-validation date. Otherwise a penalty will be imposed.

This page is the document checklist. For processing times, penalties and background on the requirement, read the full Ghana SPN/ECTN certificate guide .
