What is a BESC Certificate?

BESC certificate contains sender and consignee information, shipping details like loading & unloading ports and dates, container details, cargo and freight value, etc., according to each Bill of Lading and shipping documents. BESC has a unique number only for that particular carriage / Bill of Lading; therefore, each Bill of Lading requires its own BESC certificate/number.

Why is BESC Cargo Tracking Note Required for Cameroon?

Without a valid BESC document/number, the cargo cannot be cleared from customs, and storage costs and penalties are incurred. However, Cameroon BESC is not required if the cargo is transiting landlocked countries such as Chad and the Central African Republic. These countries have their own CTN certification and procedures.

BESC or any loading certificate informs the port authorities of the arrival date and amount of the cargo, allowing the authorities to prepare for the unloading operations in advance. BESC also prevents corruption by stating the actual price of the imported goods and by transmitting the following transport documents shortly after loading the cargo and assuring the authorities that all transport documents are genuine and in order.

Why should you get a Cameroon CTN Certificate for your shipments?

Without the BESC document, the cargo cannot be cleared from customs, and there are lien and penal costs.

What Documents Are Required for Cameroon Waiver?

Original Bill of Lading, commercial invoice, and freight invoice if the freight value is not specified on the commercial invoice. In addition, the Declaration of Importation (Declaration D’Importation) specifies a reference number starting with SGS, GU, and statistical number. The identification reference number (if any) is indicated on the certificate, and the GU and statistical numbers are required if the certificate needs to be verified. However, the Import Declaration did not mandate whether the cargo was a vehicle or a personal item.

  • Original Bill of Lading
  • Commercial invoice
  • freight invoice if the freight value is not specified on the commercial invoice.
  • Import Declaration (Declaration D’Importation)

Notice: You can cancel the process at any time during the CTN Application.
